Edited Decemby strongfan LIST OF PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ: In addition, this may cause them to accidentally bank or even drop their hatchet/pickaxe/net, and they will not be able to skill anymore.ĭoesn't work they need to have both hands open. This will make them unequip their hatchet/pickaxe/net to catch the ball, and therefore give them one less inventory space. If they are dumb enough to have accept aid on, they will be greeted by a large window appearing at their screen, effectively disorienting them.Ĩ) If they are doing something that requires wielding an item, sacrifice a gnomeball by throwing it to them. This will confuse them or atleast prevent them from taking that thing.ħ)If you are in a member's world, cast tele-other on them. enough to make themĦ)If you have a pet or summoning familiar, position said familiar on areas where they may be clicking, such as on flax. A few macros out there will have a set pattern for clicking, and if there's something in their way it could put them off by a few pixels. Most modern bots aren't this stupid, however, so this method isn't always very efficient.ĥ)Plant marker seeds on the squares that they click. Try and lure them into a dangerous area, or otherwise away from you. This will slow them down considerably by adding more to their inventory, and therefore more frequent banking trips and less annoyance for you.Ĥ) Dress in colors similar to the ore they are mining, the trees they are cutting, or the flax that they are picking. ![]() If they begin talking, you won't want to miss it.Ģ) If their route takes them through any closable doors or gates, close them to disorient them.ģ) Drop junk items on the squares that they click on. If their suspicion meter is at 11 or higher, they are definitely a bot and you should report them without hesitation, unless what they are doing does not harm you in any way, which is unlikely if they got such a score anyway.ġ) First things first, report them, but don't ignore them until you log out. If their suspicion meter is at 6 through 10, they are at very high risk for botting, but it's best not to jump to conclusions just yet. If their suspicion meter is at 4, they are likely a bot, but you don't have enough evidence for it to be promising. If their suspicion meter is at 3, they are probably afk or have public off, but could very well be a bot. If their suspicion meter is at 2, they are maybe a bot, but then again might not be. If their suspicion meter is at 1, They are most likely an easily-tricked human. If their suspicion meter is at Zero, They are most likely not a bot, but it is possible. Try whacking them with an easter carrot, or throwing snowballs at them to see If the person doesn't react, they are either afk or botting. When they go bank their items, do they click in the exact same squares all the time? If so, add 4 to the suspicion meter.Ħ) Do something extremely wierd that draws attention to yourself. ![]() Do they react immediately after a tree falls or respawns? If so, add 2 to the suspicion meter.ĥ) Analyze their clicking. Do they acknowledge that you are following them? If not, add 4 to the "suspicion meter".Ĥ) Analyze their pattern. If they fall for it, or don't respond at all, add 1 to the suspicion meter.ģ) Follow them around. If they're mining, ask their magic level, ect. If they're fishing, ask their mining level. If the person in question does not respond, add 3 to the "suspicion meter".Ģ) Ask them a trick question. To check to see if they are really botting and not just afk, ask them when they are banking or switching trees/rocks. However, there are still a good number of bots thatĭon't respond. Just because someone fails a test does NOT mean that theyĪre a bot, but are more likely to be one.ġ) Walk up to them and ask "Are you a bot?" Most likely, you will get an answer, even if they are botting(they have talking bots now). Some people like to browse other webpages while training, and I have taken that into consideration when devising my tests. In light of the recent spike in bot usage, I have devised a system of bot-catching techniques and tests to check to see what the probability of the player in question being a bot.
